The SEO Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing local SEO strategies for Odyssey Lab’s growing client base. As an early hire, you will manage all SEO work across multiple clients, build foundational SOPs and systems for service delivery, and help scale the SEO department with additional hires in the future. You will work directly with the founder and will have access to top-tier SEO training and mentorship.
Key responsibilities include:
Full Local SEO Campaign Management – Oversee local SEO campaigns for 4-5 clients, ensuring strong rankings and measurable growth, particularly within competitive metro areas. Optimize Google Business Profile listings, citations, and other local search factors.
Keyword Research & Strategy – Identify and prioritize high-value, local keywords that drive results, as well as informational keywords for blog and resource content strategy.
On-Site and Technical SEO – Implement best practices for site architecture, metadata, schema markup, internal linking, page speed, and mobile optimization.
Content Strategy & Optimization – Guide and refine content development, optimizing on-page elements and structuring content for both search visibility and conversions.
Link Building & Off-Site SEO – Manage local citation building, outreach, and press release distribution to earn high-authority backlinks.
Reporting & Client Communication – Provide monthly reports summarizing rankings, traffic, and conversions, along with insights and recommendations for next steps.
System & SOP Development – Learn and implement The Blueprint Training program's SEO systems, as starting point for service delivery. Establish and refine repeatable workflows, documentation, and automation to scale SEO services.
Future Team Leadership – Assist in hiring and onboarding SEO team members as the department grows.
Continuous Learning & Growth – Stay up-to-date with evolving SEO trends, AI tools, and industry best practices.
All Current Clients Onboarded & Growing – Successfully execute SEO campaigns for 4-5 existing clients, ensuring strong keyword ranking improvements within 3 months and traffic growth by month 5.
Measurable Local SEO Wins – Improve local keyword rankings by 50% and organic traffic by 25% for first 3 clients.
Core SEO SOPs in Place – Develop structured workflows, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures for executing local SEO campaigns, ensuring consistent, repeatable, and scalable service delivery.
SEO Blueprint Training Implemented – Successfully integrate foundational strategies from the SEO Blueprint Training into our agency’s processes.
Agency Analytics & Reporting Established – Build a streamlined client reporting dashboard covering rankings, traffic, and conversions, ensuring clear insights and transparency for clients.
Foundational Link Building & Content Strategy Launched – Execute structured link-building outreach and content optimization strategies for client success, achieving an average of 5 or more DA 40+ backlinks per month per client, including at least one from outreach.
SEO Automation & Efficiency Gains – Identify and implement AI tools, automation, and process improvements to increase efficiency.
Evaluation & Progress Review – At the 5-month mark, a performance review will assess readiness for continued employment and growth into leadership.
🚩 Quick Wins & Momentum – Within 60 days, all active client campaigns are fully onboarded, reporting is operational, and keyword tracking is in place, ensuring a clear performance trajectory.
🏆 MacBook & Raise at 6 Months – Upon successful completion of the probationary period, and the establishment of role-specific goals for the next 12 months, a high-end MacBook will be provided along with a compensation increase.
💡 Flexible Support – While the goal is for the SEO Manager to achieve success without additional support until hiring the first team member after month 6, resources such as part-time assistants or white-label agency support can be integrated sooner to ensure success and avoid burnout.
